Gordon's Bay Underwater Trail

For those new or experienced, come out to Gordon's Bay!!

This will be a nice relaxing dive and the Bay is popular for city dive schools due to its confined water conditions and textbook maximum depth of 12 meters. To ensure divers do not get lost, a chain was laid down, although much of it has now been covered in sand making it a fun challenge for navigation.

We will try to find the remains of the submerged chain by finning southwest from the car park end to 8m to a large rock ledge, then south east to 6m past kelp, arriving at a large stand of  kelp surrounding large boulders.  From here, we will head due north back towards the car park and another stand of kelp in about 4m, returning to the start.

Time:

We will meet at the car park at the end of Victory Street, Clovelly, at 1:00PM and be kitted up and ready to enter the water by 1:30PM.  Parking is free!

Gear hire:

Club gear hire is available!!  ProDive Alexandria also has gear for rent: www.prodive.com.au.

How to get there:

If you are driving from the City get onto Anzac Parade and take the Alison Rd (Randwick) turn off.  Turn left into Cowper St, cross Avoca St into Frenchman's Rd, and turn right into Clovelly Rd.  Drive down Clovelly Rd which becomes Victory St which, in turn, ends in the car park near the dive site.  If you're coming by public transport, check 131500 or www.131500.com.au for options, or ask the event organiser.

You must be a diving member of DOUTS to book. You do this by sending a copy of your diving certification to secretary@douts.org
